I have had the same make car for almost 10 years. Multiple cars with no late payments. We own one and leased one (for business). Basically in the last 2 years I have made 3 late payments due to part my error and part error on the finance company (It really falls on me 100%). There was an error on the finance company setting up my automatic payments for thew first 3 months of the lease the screwed up and they acknowledge that. It finally got worked out but I was about a month behind in the payment. I was told that the payment was due on the 20th and 3 times in the last year being behind and didn't want to be 30 days late I made my payment at the last minute via online. That being said. The payment was really due on the 18th and I got dinged for being 30-31 days late 3 times. I have always paid on time with this company and we also have another car with the company and have never been late. My lease is coming due and they said they will not help me with the lateness's. They agree that they gave me misinformation but I should of checked it on my own(which is true).... Is there a letter or something I can do ..I hate to have my credit dinged for something like this..

Sounds to me like your lender should be showing you a little goodwill and working with you on this. Have you written them a letter asking for them to remove the late pays and stressing how long you've been a loyal customer? If they refuse to help you out, one other option is to take a closer look at your credit reports to see if they're reporting anything incorrect regarding the late pays. If they are, you may want to think about disputing them through the CRAs and hoping for the best.

I spoke to them and they gave me an address to send a letter to. Is there a template or should I just say that i've been a long time customer and haven't been late ect...Im not a good letter writer :) ...

You don't want your goodwill letter to sound like it's a copied template. Just keep it very simple and to the point.

Explain how you've been a loyal customer, how this simple mistake has caused you problems, and exactly what you would like them to do. The most important part is making sure it gets into the right hands. Good luck!
