I have a debt that ended up in collections with NCO Financial about a year ago. It is a valid debt - It was from my final payment on an insurance bill that I simply forgot to pay. I want to send a pay-for-delete letter, but I do not have my original documentation from NCO that tells me what the account number is. My credit report shows all but the last four digits of the account number. Is there a way to obtain the full account number so that I may proceed with the pay-for-delete letter?
You could always call them to request your full account number. Or, you could even send your PFD letter with all the info. you have, explaining that you don't have the last 4 digits of your account number per the credit report. I'm sure they'll be able to find it based upon the other personal information you provide.
Ok, thanks! I will just send the PFD with what I have and hope it works out. It's my only negative mark remaining on my account, so I am really hoping they accept.
