I recently found out that sears had reported three open accounts to the credit bureaus in my name. They subsequently charged the accounts off and sold them to lvnv funding. To complicated the matter even more, citibank bought sears credit card division and they reported the erroneous accounts also. My problem is lvnv will not remove the entries unless sears/citibank advises them to do so. Well, sears/citibank "alleges" the account is sold to another collection agency, so there's nothing they can do. This is outrageous. I have contacted many people over the past four months, today, i contacted the ceo, vikram pandit. I'll let you all know what happens. If anyone else is having a problem with this company. I will not stop until i get results and due to all that i have been through with these two irresponsible companies, i personally, will not be doing business with either. Has anyone else had a problem with these two companies?
I have had nothing but ill treatment from CITI. I opened a small business visa $15K when the economy went south in 2009 CITI closed the account for no reason and hiked the interest rate to 29.99% I will never forget this treatment and I sincerely hope anyone reading this cancels their citibank accounts immediately. This bank should be bankrupt.
Citi decided to replace my 11 years old Sears store card with their super duper Sears MC with a 5k bump up on my credit limit. I bought an appliance at Sears with 90 days no interest on new and improved Sears MC and I ended up cancelling delivery of the stove. The store didn't notify Citi of the cancellation before I received my first bill. I called Citi and was told not to do anything, this would be taken care of. I even had the name of the customer service rep at Citi. The due date on the MC came and went and I received a call concerning a late payment. I again explained and was again told the error would be corrected but I should make payments in the meantime to avoid a bad hit on my credit score. Next month's bill still had the appliance charge on it, plus a late fee and acrued interest. My everyday interest rate was bumped from 6.99% to 18%. This error was NEVER corrected until 8 months of complaints, phone calls, letters and testimonal from the store where I returned the appliance. They took off the charge FINALLY but left the interest at 18%. I had to make minimum payments on the returned appliance so Citi wouldn't report to the CB's about 30,90,120 days late.
