So I had an CC with applied bank.DOFD was 12-23-03.There also reporting it as 4-23-06 and today there reporting a 3rd account on my transunion report! Shows same account number on all three reports. So I contact transunion and they tell me that the last 4 digits(the ones they dont show you)are different.Trans told me its being reported as 3 different credit cards, because the last 4 digits are different. So I had disputed the first two two weeks ago and sent applied a DV letter.Well Trans told me that the one being reported form 2003 was just delted, but wont show untill the second dispute is finished. So he tells me the 3rd one that was reported today, looks like a new account. So I did dispute it aswell. It also droped my credit score by 15 points. How is this legal for Applied to do this?To me it seems they seen the one was delted so they relisted it!What should I do?Should I contact applied and see whats the deal?
You've taken the right approach to dispute the wrong account numbers. I would wait to see what happens with the CRA disputes before trying to deal directly with Applied. If the account numbers truly are incorrect, they should get deleted. Has Applied responded to your DV letter?
No they sure have not.Its been close to two weeks.I did get the CRRR back,so I know they have it.Its funny b/c a few days after they got they DV letter or around same time Trans delted one of them, they put it right back on my account.I have been watching my credit with truecredit for about a month.Seems like they seen it get delted or somthing.
So Applied hasn't sold or transferred your debt to a CA yet? Remember, since Applied is the OC, they don't have to respond to your DV. You can't really DV an OC, but I don't necessarily think it does any damage either.
I said this was my account, but I meant its my wifes account.Im the one trying to dipute it for her. No they never sold the account.Well atleast it has never shown up on a report as a CA trying to collect it.So it was verfied with EX.So I went ahead and called them today.I was on the phone for over an hour while they looked for her accout or lets say accounts. They transfered me all around.I was told by the first person that only thing they can find was an applacation with her middle name and our old address from like 9 years go.They kept asking me the account numbers,I told them I dont know them!I gave them her SSI number and they kept telling me we cant find it with out the account numbers.Do you think they were trying to rope me in to somthing, by telling them the acc numbers?Transunion told me and the last digits were all diff on all 3 of them.I didnt want to screw myself over by telling them more info than I should. So what do you think?Do they even have any info? After I kept telling them to send me coppies of those accounts they put me on hold and the phone hung up.I had to get to work so I was not able to call them back.Should I send them a 623 & do a MOV with the CRAs?
Sounds like you're getting the total runaround here and they've got absolutely no information. Request MOV from the CRAs and let them know that the OC has zero documentation based upon your communication with them. There's no reason this should be reported 3 times as separate accounts. In fact, since the DOFD was back in 2003, it really shouldn't even be reported at all.
UPDATE!! So I updated my wifes experian monitoring service(today) and her vanity score went up 23 points!I checked her report and this applied bank was gone!Whats crazy is I got an email from experian a few days ago saying it was verfied. So any idea why it got delted? Also applied sent a letter to(got it yesterday) responding to my DV letter. It said the account was hers, and had an account number etc.It was from 2007 saying her account was ready to be charged off.So its now only on Trans as it was never being reported to EQ.
Hopefully it stays off, but that seems kind of strange since you said they just responded to your dispute with notice that it was verified. Maybe they determined that it was too old to be reported?
I hope it does. It's supposed to be removed in 2012 some time, going by one of the CRAs. It's still on Trans so I hope it comes off there. They're still looking into the dispute.
