Apparently these guys collect for Target. I had a Target card that was included in a chapter 7 back in March 2010. It took me three tries to get it reporting correctly (said I had a balance, then listed as charge off, finally listed as included in bankruptcy with correct date). Today I get a notification from Experian saying I had a new negative account. Weird since I've been 100% perfect since 2010. RJM shows up re-aged to January 2013 as a new bankruptcy! Experian won't let me dispute online so should I contact RJM themselves? I'm thinking of sending a demand letter for them to remove the trade line based on their re-aging and citing FCRA laws. Correct step? Thanks
Hi Phantom - First, I would go the written letter route over the online dispute any day. (Make sure to make hard copies of any documents you send them.) But yes I would send a DV to the CA immediately. Just remember to keep your explanation brief; I'm sure you've seen this before, but a refresher never hurts: Sample DV Letter from Sparq
I'm past the DV letter Jason, this has been on my report for 3 years. My issue is they changed the DOLA info from March 2010 to January 2013. Thanks
