*meant Letter From Experian About SECURITY Alert

I just sent off the dispute of old prior addresses to the 3 CRA's. Like it has been said to do that before DV letters to a CA.

But, after I sent off the old address dispute, I got these letters saying that there would be a security alert placed on my report. I never said that I believed I actually was a victim of identity theft, I said I wanted the previous and inaccurate addresses removed because I was concerned about identity theft.

-I uploaded them to Dropbox and you can find them here.

You have to copy/paste that link into address bar because I can't post links yet because I don't have 20 posts or whatever.

Why is there a security alert on my report and how do I get it removed?? This is all becoming very frustrating and I would like to just proceeded on with the DV letters to the CA's but I think I need to fix the security alert thing first.

I would contact Experian directly and ask for the security alert to be removed. It should be a pretty simple process. Thanks! Heather with BoostMyScore.NET

One disadvantage of the 1997 FCRA amendments, any dispute that even sounds close to fraud/id theft, or even sounds concerned with those, it's easier to resolve by "security alerts" and having the DF send a "so you think this is fraud, send us a police report or report from the FBI ID theft office."

You don't have to stop the DV process because of the security alert. I do believe the standard ones drop off after 90 days, but as Heather suggested, you could just call the CB and ask for it to be removed. If all of your previous address are now gone this is a moot point, but in the future when disputing them don't bother putting anything about identity theft, just dispute as incorrect/not mine. I've done it a few times with no flags.
