And I just checked the mail and got a letter from NCO that they are deleting my paid collection!! Nutcase letter worked!

So, I guess today we are winning some and losing some. I was really hoping to get a good response from Nordstroms but I'm really happy that NCO is deleting.

I asked Nordstroms to delete my late payments, they responded that I had too many to do so. If I reply or speak to their head of credit services, should I ask for the most recent one only?

    Congrats on NCO.

Yes, the more recent late pays are hurting more than older ones. A number of creditors will delete as least one as a 'courtesy', if you have 5 or 6, see if you can get them to delete 2 or 3. Point out your on-time trend since x/xxxx, that you continue to frequent their store (if you really do, that is), things like that. The fact that they are saying they won't delete all late pays because you have too many indicates that they are probably willing to delete some and not stonewall like some OC's in claiming they can't delete any.

So should I email Erik back, or try and wait until the head of the credit services calls me? I still do frequent their store...so I have no problem saying that.

I would say wait for the call from the head of CS if that's what Erik said was going to happen. Erik helped me getting their card a good 10/12 years ago, and if things haven't changed much, they're a good company that will work with you, at least till a point.

See where you get with the other person first.

Thanks. Yeah, they were always really really helpful and nice when I would call. I've been good about making on time payments but I am pissed at myself for having late payments/letting the card be closed. Unfortunately I went through a tough time but I wish I could have maintained it. Thanks for your help again! I will speak to the head of services and see where I get.

PS-how did you get them to give you a card?

PSS- Do companies ever re-open cards after they have been closed? How does that happen? Is it incredibly rare?

PS - Sent you a PM.

PSS - I think it depends on how long ago it was closed. Family member had a B of A CC that has been closed for a couple of years, tried to re-open and was told it was closed too many months, would have to reapply. If it is 6 months or less (maybe 12 months?!) it might just be a soft inquiry, otherwise it's like starting from scratch.

I have a 60 day late from 2010 from my undergrad University. I have been current since then. EX has the TL listed as my University, even though they transferred the debt awhile ago (opened 2004, was transferred in 2008 I believe) In calling the University, they always tell me they don't have it, but they are reporting to EX.

TU has them as closed (transferred) and the new creditor.

So should I GW the University and let them come back as "we don't own this" then ask them why they're reporting? Or dispute w/EX?

    Thanks!

None of my goodwills are working. Aside from continuing to pay on time, any advice for how to get some lates removed?

Do I keep sending goodwills and hope they land at the right person?

What did the university say in their GW response?

I would keep at them w/ some edits. Feel free to post an example [minus names, numbers, etc] here and I'm happy to give feedback (and I'm sure others in the forum are, too). :)
