I disputed two old addresses and one account that was closed in November but was showing up as open. I am happy to say that the addresses were removed and the account now reads closed by consumer. I started the dispute on 12/16 and it was completed on 12/20 online and I received my updated report in the mail today 12/26. I am impressed.

Wow! That sounds like great service. Good work! :)

My Equifax report was about 10% as comprehensive as my Trans Union and Experian reports. I was very surprised to see how bare bones the report was.

Have you checked your other credit reports?

Yes, I received my reports for the first time in July of 2000. Since then I have had 12 accurate negative items removed. This was the first time I did a dispute online with Equifax.

I did an online dispute with TU & EX and had different results, Equifax verified the acct as correct and marked it as paid for me. The TU came back as an error in trying to verify it and wanted me to call them but when I checked my reports TU had removed the acct from my report. Odd but I will take it as I am so close to have a pristine CR I can taste it!

Welcome to Creditnet Adogg! Congrats on getting the TU tradeline removed. What's your plan with Equifax? Are you just planning to leave things as they are?

Thank you! At this point like I said I am close to having a blemish free CR! So with that said, I plan on refinancing my car (I got hosed but it's building my credit from a then 608 to a 700+ score now) After I will continue to make the same payment that I have been to pay off the loan and then onto a home loan. I thought that my situation was bad, till I have read some of the other stories on here (no insult intended) and saw what they had done to raise their numbers. I so wish I had come across this site a couple years ago as I have been rebuilding my credit on my own with just lots of reading on the web and Credit Karma to keep tabs weekly of changes, if any. Now through my place of business I have Info Armor with a built in credit guard that keeps me up to date on my numbers from TU. I also request my annual reports from all three and have some small details that need to be fixed via some letters and or time. I have two items that will fall off as of next year but would prefer to have them taken off sooner than later :)

Sounds like you've come a long way already on your own. Nice work. If you have any questions about dealing with the last 2 items you mentioned, I'm happy to provide some guidance. Congrats on getting your credit scores back into the 700+ range!

OK so I am trying again with EquiFax. I had put out snail mail and like a fool did not go the CL route. Anyway this is for the last two items that are on the report and I pushed them through as not liable any longer as they have been paid in full and are due to fall off my report soon as the SOL in MA. is 6 years and they are both reported in 2010. One in June and the other should have already come off as TU had dropped it last month. So fingers crossed :)

Good luck! Keep in mind that the SOL is different from how long something can be legally reported on your credit reports. Technically, the SOL could have run but the debt can still show up on your credit reports per the FCRA. Let us know how it goes!

Yes, I realized that after I sent them out but worth a shot? As I see it in about a years time they will be gone anyway!

OK so last night I get my CR from Experian and they have deleted the judgement off of my report with them! It still shows with Equifax but that I will be fighting as well. I guess that I have had pretty good luck with having items removed from my reports compared to others that I have read about. Keeping my fingers crossed. On another note I just opened a larger line of credit and my score took a 45 point nosedive! What gives?

Good to hear that Experian removed the judgment. That's got to help your Experian-based FICO score!

Regarding the credit score drop, what kind of credit line did you open? And what credit score are you tracking that dropped 45 points? It's common to see a drop in your FICO scores when you open a new credit account, but 45 points seems very high compared to what I would expect. Are you sure nothing else is going on?

Well I have a low limit secured card that I used and have approx 190 in charges on it w/ 500 limit. So I am assuming that the usage is what gave me the drop. It is my EquiFax number that tanked via Credit Karma. THe Credit card I opened was a 900 Merrick card. I know I know High apr but the chance to dbl the limit in 7 months. My plan is to pay off the C1 card with the Merrick and pay off the $190 in 7 payment. Dbl my CL and grow the scores........my TU FICO is 768 as for Experian, I am not sure as it does not come with the CR. but my EF went to 669 AHHHHHH!!

Also I was thinking if this is the reason for the large drop then the amount of the new CL would make it a smaller percent of used credit would it not? Or is it based on each line of credit? If that is the case then I will pay it off today with the new CL.

FICO Scores look at both per card utilization and total revolving credit utilization. So you can get dinged if you have one card with a high utilization even if your total utilization across all cards is low. It's a good idea to always use less than 30% of your available credit on each card, but also keep in mind that you want to keep your overall credit utilization under 30% as well (preferably under 10%).

Well I would say that under 200 of a total of 1400 would be quite alright. My TU just took a 45 nose dive as well. I get so fired up with this credit game BS I swear it's rigged to keep you down. I just got it up by busting my butt and now that I have been responsible they tax you by looking at the age of the history (although its supposedly only 10% of your score) And if that is the case then why the huge drop. I feel like taking a copy of my ass and mailing it to each of the CR!

OK so I have had a chance to breath a bit. I paid off my CC to $0. I was planning on paying it with the new card and then pay that off over 7 months to dbl the CL but Cap 1 does not allow you to pay with another card. I should have transferred the balance when I opened the new acct. but oh well. So I will NEVER allow C1 to make any interest off of my money again :). I have also issued another removal of the judgement off of my EquiFax report along with the other accts I had inquired about. So now just the waiting game!

Under $200 on a total of $1,400 isn't bad at all- 14% credit utilization. Since you paid off your credit card to a $0 balance, you should see a boost from that as well. Good luck with the removals, and let us know how it goes Adogg!
