    Hi!

In March of 2019 I had a $2000+ debt sent to a collections agency, so that counted as a derogatory mark on my credit report. I paid it completely off - it's now at $0 - but it still appears as a derogatory mark. I realize it can be there for 7 years, but am wondering if it becomes a low-impact or otherwise lessened blemish on my report before that time, especially since I paid it in full in December 2019.

    Thanks!

Look at the account on your credit report and search for inconsistencies in the reporting. If there are inconsistencies write a letter to the credit bureaus disputing the charge.
