IT DEPENDS ON THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND THE CARD YOU GET AND TRADE FOR WHAT...

O.k. so you think I can get that card and trade for Blue? Probably not, huh? I really want a charge card but hell, I'll take what I can get!

Sam I "think" amex only allows one application per 60-90 days, atleast that is what was on my blue application????

    FYI:

The "Card" is not eligible for enrollment in the Membership Rewards® program.

This is in all the terms and conditions of their cards, apparently if you accept or our approved for any card you can't get another one for 90 days, unless I am reading this wrong:

By sending this application, I ask that a "Card" account be opened in my name and "Card(s)" issued as I request, and that you renew and replace them until I cancel. If I currently have an American Express Card Account, I understand that it will not be canceled unless I so request. I agree to be bound by the agreement governing my account. I agree to be liable for all charges on my account, including charges incurred with any Additional "Card(s)" issued on my account now or in the future. If this offer is pre-approved, I understand that my "Card" account may not be issued to me if this form is altered, the information on it is not complete, accurate, or verifiable, or I have responded to another pre-approved offer within the last 90 days or have been approved for another product from you.

    Note the last line.

Wait.....just reading up and both the Blue and Delta cards are issued by AMEX Centurion Bank. The charge cards are issued by AMEX Travel Related Services. Humm....so maybe there is hope to switch???

I know my Amex green is through Amex Travel Services...says so on all my statements (from 94 until present).

Amex Travel Services are also the travel agents for the company I work for....they have been pretty good to deal with.

Ok all of you 7-10 days people. I got the same response and I'm curious what everyones score is that got that response, mine is 583. BTW I found a # to call AMEX at under the 'will my card be approved' section...1-800-AXP-1234.
    Just thought I'd share.

    congrats sam and flagirl.

so in light of this new info, is the consensus delta sky miles is the easiest amex card to get? I want to apply for my gf for a new amex card in a month or so, either Gold, optima, or now delta sky miles...

Applied and got the 7-10 days standard response, score is 645, and have had amex for 6 years with perfect history, not sure if it's a denial or not...

    I'm APPROVED!

Just called the new accounts number. I applied for the Gold Delta SkyMiles card and was APPROVED! Finally......I'm an official AMEX card holder. It wasn't the card that I wanted but HEY.....I'LL TAKE IT! I'll try for the Gold charge again next year in April when some inquiries fall off.

    Thanks to all!!!

My initial limit was 2500. I dont think they pulled an inquiry, just told me that they would let me know within 48hrs., and I checked online and it was there. :)
