I have a couple creditors that do not report on a monthly basis (Citi and mbna, among others). I just made a large payment on one of my cards. Is there any way to get them to report it? If they report it, I plan on using a balance transfer from that card to reduce some debt on other cards.
I have Citi and Chase and have found that they report fairly reliabily as long as the balance CHANGES. So, one idea may be to pay off a big balance then go charge like $30.00 and see if they report the change. I know exactly what you mean though. You have this huge balance and pay/transfer it and it still looks like you owe even though your acct balance is zero. Frustrating. Myschae
Not true with Citi. Despite activity on my cards they have not updated balances since the Aug statement but it says reported 09/01. They are doing AR's on all my CRA reports though. My balances are dropping very quickly and the fact that they don't update monthly is not fair at all. How can our reports be reasonably accurate at any given time when balances can go so long without update?
Does anyone else have any experience with either of these reporting to the CRA's? How often, if ever?
