Paid civil judgment entered 5/00, paid 5/01. The deletion brought my score from 601 to 683!! This was my 3rd or 4th attempt to get this off!

So, I am doing a happy dance!

Thanks to all for their help and advice!

How did you finally get it off?

    Yes, Cariba,

do tell, how did you get it off. If I gained 82 points I would be happily, seriously, dancing around this house, and out of the "500 club" for good!!

Just curious how in the WORLD is one deletion with that many points? Is that your last neg or something?00 Way to go! Congrats :)

Thanks. I said that I never owed X amount of money to tax lien. It was off by .14--in my book that is not 100% accurate.

I think the number of points was because it was so recent, and also because public records carry so much negative weight. I had a 1X30 days late on Cap One removed in Sept. (from 05/00), and that was worth about 23 points on TU.

Each time I dispute, I change the wording slightly. As others have said before, I think it is luck of the draw on which clerk gets your dispute. I also think that doing it ONLINE made a BIG DIFFERENCE! I also saw really good results with Experian online-- 3 negs deleted, 7 out of 8 inquiries deleted.

My advice: if you haven't disputed online, try it!

Oh yeah, on TU I still have a chargeoff, which I will have to settle because they are not budging, and a paid collection. I estimate that with those coming off, I should end up in the 720s.

What do you mean when you say they are not budging?

Did you send them a validation letter and if so what was their response?

No, I have not sent a validation letter. Guess I should do that, huh?

That seems to be the consensus of opinions of many posters on the board.
