Added my boyfriend as Authorized User. 1. If the account I added him as an authorized user is with a bank that he defaulted on three years ago, can they put his past charges on my account now that he is an authorized user. 2. If I'm understanding correctly, as long as my account is in good standing it will also show up and benefit his credit report? Does it show up on his credit report as authorized user? or does it simply show up as an account.
1. No they can't it is 2 separate accounts. I did the same with my husband 9added him to mine with a bank he DF on), 3 months later it's still not reporting. 2. It should show up depending on which bank, and it could take a while. Kellie
I'm an AU on 5 of my wifes CC's. Some have showed up at the bureaus, some haven't. 1 is on all 3 bureaus, another is on 2. Some show as AU, 2 show as undesignated. 2 showed up with her date opened and report paid as agreed the last xx months (This made me extremely happy I guess what I'm saying is you won't know until or if it shows up. What card is it? If it matches one that I'm AU on, I'll give you the full report on what shows and where. (of course thats no guarantee that it will be the same for him).
