Got preapproved offer for a MC. These are the details:

    CL will be between $250-1000
    9.9% APR
    Account setup fee 29.00
    Program fee 95.00
    Annual fee 48.00
Participation fee 72.00 (billed $6/mo, annually)

My thoughts are that they are going to give me a crappy $250 CL and then tack all of the above on top of that for a available credit of...a whopping $78.

I am seriously considering the offer, but wondering if I need the card that bad (I know I have to judge that for myself). I currently have a Cap One $800 CL and a Kohls $1200 CL and a car loan. The only thing that is appealing about the CCB is the 9.9% APR. Cap One is 14.9%.

    Any suggestions?

BTW, I have PFBed First Premier about this offer to see if they can do better. Want opinions just in case they can't...

I have CCB and started with a 350 limit in 8/00 that is now 1200, all though I've seen alot complaints (usually about the fees), I've been happy with them, when I took their offer I didn't have any other options, from what I can see you do and the fees aren't worth paying...take the couple of hundred dollars-that you would pay in fees-and use it toward your exsisting balances...you seem to be well on your way and I'd tough it out and wait for a prime card...in six months it may be possible for you...just my opion but don't do it...it ain't worth it...

ps I don't think PFB works with sub-prime cards and I also have first premier...perfect payment for 2 years...still at $250...hate them...they are the worst!

Correction: its a First Prem offer

I made a mistake. The offer is for a First Premier card, not a CCB card.

    (Having a Christmas hangover, sorry)

    Soup,

Why do you think PFB does not work with subprimes?

The total fees close to $250....with a $250 limits card,
I think you need an atomic microscope to look it over!

    PFB DOES work with subprimes.

Orchard and CCB are getting more and more receptive to PFB.

CapOne and Providian also are, as well as Sterling.

First Premier is almost as bad as CCB.
