Last week I got approved for amex loc for 15K and today got approved for amex blue for 8200. Is there another product I can apply for from amex to combine with the blue to increase the limit? I will like to take all my inquiries in a lump so I can risk one more. Thanks
As soon as you get the card, call and ask to have your limit re-evaluated. I had some luck with it, so have some others - but not everyone. Not every card co does like Citi, where it is better to get another card than to ask for an increase.
fand, I don't think Amex will let you combine many of their accounts. Eg. Blue with Cash Back Platinum, etc. I know they will allow you to upgrade from their charge card Green to Gold and their credit card Optima to Optima Platinum, but I believe that is where it ends. I don't believe Blue will combine with anything, unfortunately. Hope this helps. Dani PS Have you received your Juniper card yet (still waiting here). Have a wonderful New Year.
Thank god I asked, I had already pulled the amex website getting ready to apply. Thanks for all the responses. Dani, I have not received the juniper card but yet. I have been away for the holidays until the 7th. You have no idea how I am jumpy I am to get home. I am expecting a few goodies when I get home. Happy holidays!
Amex MORE team can transfer some/all of the credit line from one Amex card to another, depending on what you choose. This, of course, only applies to credit cards, not charge cards. Saar
I chickened out of applying for another card. Over the last two weeks with the help of people and info from this board, I have able to obtain 65K of credit from banks I never thought of touching with a 10 foot pole. I think I will lay off applying anymore for awhile. After it was all said and done I had two inquiries each on each report. Thanks gang.
What is a LOC I mean I know is some kind of checks but I need more info about it and what's the minimun score to apply?
Navajo, Amex's LOC is a hidden line of credit issued by American Express Centurion Bank. When you apply they pull a soft inquiry on Experian. Many of us still have not figured out what Amex uses for denying/accepting someone. George, Marci, and I have scores in the 700s and we were denied and then there are some on this board with scores in the mid 600s that were accepted so it all depends. Basically, I think you need to have fewer than 4 inquiries in the last 6 months, no derogatory information from the past 24 months, no credit lines totaling over $100,000, and no new mortgages. Note: when they ask for personal income just put in household income (I learned this the hard way). Of course, you didn't read this advice here (wink, wink). Good luck and let us know how it goes. Happy New Year. Dani
I just applied for the LOC, my EX score is above 700. I have a chargeoff from 1997 that is paid as my only derog. I had 1 inquiry in the past six. I was approved for 7000 with an income of 60,000 (i didn't put household in, I should have). That is the best I can do for info. A question for the rest......Does my approval for the LOC better my chances at an AMEX card???
Well it depends. I have a 2 year old Blue and a 3.5 year old corporate gold. It didn't help me one darn bit. Dani
