My niece has applied for about 5 cards and got a denial on all of them. She just turned 19 the 22nd of this month. She has NO credit history at all. I remember being 17 and newly married and we had no credit either. We were able to get Sears, Zales, Gordons, Lerner and a couple Visa and MC. She can't get doodly. How do you get a credit history if nobody will give you a chance. She's in college and works and tried for the Associates student card, Cap One, Orchard Bank, Target & Exxon. Any suggestions? She is really wanting to establish some history so she can trade in her "hoopty" (as she calls it) within a yr - 18 months for a nice car.
