Does anyone know how long a post office attempts to obtain a signature before sending everything back to the sender? - Sent two CRRR's on 12/30 or 12/31, haven't gotten anything back yet. Sent one on 12/24, got it back on 1/2 or 1/3. And one (of the two I haven't gotten yet) was local.

    Mind-
Was one of them for Collectech, for some reason they accepted mine (I sent it 12/12) on 12/18 and they refused hubbys (Sent 12/6), I just got his back 2 days ago. So I would say they try for abut 2 weeks. After the first attempt to deliver they leave a notice saying come pick it up, to the person you sent it to.

If you haven't got the GREEN card back after 2-3 weeks...the POST OFFICE can send something called a "DUPLICATE SERVICE REQUEST" @ NO CHARGE...(don't forget your original receipt)

    Thanks George, appreciate it.

KHM - Nope, this is another company. Was at the post office today, got some info on something called "delivery confirmation" it's similar to CRRR, however it differs on these: sent priority mail (2-3days) instead of regular mail, no signature is required, the postman scans a bar code attached to the letter, and you can then go online, enter in the code the post office give you, and print out the page. It (should) be as good as getting a signature, and the receipient (CA,creditor, etc) cannot refuse it, like they could a CRRR.
