I did an online dispute with Trans Union. I got back a report that they deleted 2 neg. including my one and only judgement! I thought that was miracle, well then 2 days later I got another report from them and they deleted 8 more neg.! That's 10 all together! I had been with a credit cleanup company a year ago and they didn't do half as good. How is everyone keeping track of their credit scores? Is it though that Credit expert? I would like to see if this made a difference. It was at 575 which is way better then the other two.
Congratulations!! I use credit expert, also equifax website/service, and TU will send you score through the mail, with your report, if you ask.
Congrats!! That's what it's all about. Maybe what happened to you is a fluke or maybe not but who cares? If you got some bad stuff deleted, you are very cool. Part of the key is that you did it yourself. When you walk to the bathroom you don't call a service to take you there, you get up and walk to the bathroom. Worst case you hobble there on crutches or roll there in a wheelchair. Likewise, when you've got credit problems you log onto Straight Talk at CreditNet, read, search, post, reply, and read some more. Then you simply walk to the bathroom and flush your own toilet. Good for you.
We just recently disputed something online with TU for the first time--do they only respond via email or send a hard copy through the USPS?
Thanks...we've previously gotten the TU hardcopy report when we wrote in by USPS, but when my husband did an EXP online dispute we got the short email response. I much prefer to get the new updated report so we can see (big sigh here) what else has started reporting funkily.
DTG said that he had used a credit repair company and I was wondering how much it cost him. I have heard that a good one can cost$2000+ and have heard of one in Houston that wants 25% of what he gets deleted. Charlie
Here are the secret steps to credit repair for perfect credit: 1. Become a member of Straight Talk at CreditNet. 2. Read and search, read and search. 3. Post questions to things that you don't understand that you can't find the answer to after searching and reading 4. Do the deeds yourself. 5. Post your successes 6. Encourage others to do it themselves
I understand that completely....and I am doing that, but I have a LAZY friend that doesn't want to go this route. He has seen that I have gotten a Fed tax lien off, 3 judgments offand many other deletions, but he wants someone else to do it. I have called him every name but his real name for not doing it himself. Charlie
I hate to recommend any company because people get crazy. But the one that seems best to me right now can be found at http://mycreditfirm.com. Their fees are very low, they have a toll free number for customer service 6 days a week, and they are typically successful in 6 months instead of stretching you out a year or more to get more fees. I had referred several people to Lexington before I realized what a mistake that was. I think Junum was fine but they went public at the wrong time. Junum seems to be having problems right now. There are, of course, many other choices. For those who must use a service I believe wholeheartedly in the firm I mentioned above.
Sorry it took me so long to get back. The credit repair company cost $49.95 a month. There was no up front fee. I used them for about 9-10 months. They got a few results, but nothing like this. I would say do it yourself at this point. At the time my credit was stressing me out so much that I didn't want to think about it. dtg
I agree with you that both the results are better doing it yourself vs using an internet credit repair. I may help her out it's just that i'm busy enough owning 2 businesses and trying to start up another that I would like to be able to have some sort of life, but she keeps bugging me to help her that I probably will give in eventually.
