If you discharged a bankruptcy tomorrow and wanted to rebuild credit by applying for secured cards immediately, what would be your top picks? (Cap One and Providian are out...I bk'd $25K between them)

Also...does your credit prior to bk have any standing in regards to credit approval? I know I'll have to used secured cards for a while, but I'm hoping to get decent credit limits. Up until my bk, my credit was perfect and my payments current. I surprised the hell out of my creditors when I had to declare bankruptcy.

    Thanks in advance!!

First Consumers National Bank and Direct Merchants Bank offer secured cards and are pretty easy to get after a bk, they both are reviewed yearly for unsecured status. Orchard Bank is another one that is easy to get and is good too.
