    Hello everyone:

I just checked Equifax and my score is up from 504 to 638 in just 34 days. Thanks for everyone's help.

What kind of cards can I get with this score? I just rec'd Cap One Gold. I have Chevron, FNBM, and a new auto loan. I would like to have a dept. store card. I applied to Radioshack/Goodyear and didn't get instant approval. Does this mean I am declined?

How the heck did you manage to get your score that high. Congrats, I am sooooo jealous of you.

Great job! I would try Citibank AA Advantage. Apply for the silver. Many people here have gotten the card even with dings on their report. Once you get the card, you can "product transfer" to the Platinum select and get a better rate if you woud prefer that over the airline miles.

Also you can apply for the Gold AA advantage and then combine the 2 accounts into one credit line. I was approved last year with a score similar to yours. I got both gold and silver, combined the accounts and then upgraded the accounts to Platinum Select. Good luck if you decide to give it a try.

    Congrats! How'd you do it?

I have been reading this board and working on my credit since March 2001 and haven't had such good luck....my scores started in the low-mid 500s and in the first couple of months I was able to get EX up to 603 by getting a few deletions and getting some new subprime cards. I was very excited because I thought I was out of the 500 club for good but then a 30 day and 60 day late were incorrectly reported on one of my new accounts and my scored dropped back down to the mid 500s....I have since gotten the lates removed but guess what? I didn't get any of those points back....my score still sits at 549 and doesn't seem to go up at all no matter what I do. I have not gotten much of anything else deleted lately...everything has come back verified so I have recently started the validation process with all my derogs so hopefully this will pan out better. Anyone have any ideas as to why my score remains so low even after getting the lates removed? Nothing else has changed on my reports.

Congrats!!!! Isn't it great? I can agree with that because I had my scores jump dramatically, although not THAT fast, as I posted just a bit ag in a message called, "An incident of "we verified" (long)".

Although it may seem that it wasn't very long for me to raise mine about 180-200 points, it's actually been very close to 6 months. I think CHOD helped, but I think the main thing that helped me was taking two whole days to lay everything out for all 3 CRAs, deciding what were the most hazardous entries and dealing with those first. I did dispute online and via CRR at the same time, several times. Maybe that was pushing my luck, but hindsight, maybe I got lucky and they got tired of dealing with me. I wasn't trying to be frivolous, just making sure they got my disputes. ;-)

    Here is the honest story:

Almost all of my derogs are late pays. I have some medical collection accounts that are 5-6 years old.

I have been using Lexington for almost a year. No problems. They got some small stuff deleted. A couple returned. No biggie.

I went to buy a new car in November. My Fico scores (according to salesman) were low 500's. Anyway, I got it through Capital One. Interest is high...But, I make double payments...So not really a big issue. But it really got me motivated to fix this.

So..Fastforward. While snowbound a few weeks ago, I found this site. I started disputing everything..Online, by CRRR, Bill Bauer helped me send validation letters. I got VERY AGGRESSIVE.

If any results were not what I wanted, I re-disputed with a different reason. I have sent CRRR letters to all 3 CRA's to dispute inquiries. I have sent CRRR's to every inquiry listed on all 3. As soon as I get responses back, I CRRR and redispute. I have disputed them online at the same time. I am trying to overload their computers and keep everyone confused.

Now, I am at the point that I have 2 medical collection accounts that are with CA's not licensed/bonded in NC. Bingo, I am giving them a chance to validate and then I will drop the bomb on them.

I have one CA that seems to be violating all sorts of laws. I am documenting this well and intend to lower the boom on them too.

I have set up an excel spreadsheet to track everything with dates, CRRR received, etc. This is critical.

To make things easier, I do the following:

    1. I use Stamps.com to print all postage from home.

    2. I got a "Firm Mailing Book" from the post office. This will allow you to fill out all CRRR's on one form. The clerk will postmark it just like the green & white tab, only this will allow easier filing.

    3. I file everything and I track everything.

    4. I may even set up ACT!2000 to track this. This will allow an audit trail of what you have done, as well as keep links to all documents sent. The CRRR's can be scanned and linked as well.

Don't give up! Be Aggressive and don't be scared!

Go to musiccity.com and download a copy of Morpheus. Once this is complete you can type in act 2000 and download a copy for free. It is a site for sharing software from computer to computer.

Let me know if it works for you.

I am overly impressed. I found this board in March 2001, but I started working a little on my credit in 1999. I have had BK13 removed and about 15 negatives (give or take) on each report and still sit in the damn 500 club. Recently had 5 removed from TU with NO score increase and 4 from EQ with no score increase!!! I am at the lawsuit point now..but CONGRATS..you are the credinet rebuilder of the month or year so far!! :)

Fico is a shell game ran by con artist!
If they don't have a way to keep your score low they will invent one!
When a score goes up it's usually a fluke B/C the swindlers messed up.

This scoring is crazy. Absolutely Crazy. My Experian has gone up almost a Hundred too. It went up 7 points in 3 days for no apparent reason.

If I can get these last 4 Medical Collections off, I am hopeful that my score will go up quite a bit more.

Unless they decide not enough medical bills lowers your score.
