My hubby is very interested in Amalamated secure card. I'd like any feedback from anyone before we do anything.
I've heard of them. I've seen them in some of the credit card rate lists (I think it was bank rate). I don't know anything about them though.
Amalgamated Bank with office in Chicago and new york is supposed to have one of the best secured cards going. Lot's of unions use them I will try to stop on my way to work tomorrow and see what shakes... did you try the website and see what it says www.aboc.com
Thank you, yes I went to the web site and the rates look very good. I just wonder if they report on all 3 CRAs and if it shown as secured. Anybody?
I think it is a pretty good bank I called a number and they sent me an application. I read over the terms and they seem pretty reasonable for it being a secure card. This will be the next secure card I will sign up for. It requires a deposit of $500
On the letter I recieved with the application. It states the fact that this is a secured card product is known only to you and the Bank and states it will be report to credit report.
For you folks wondering if this is a 'legit' bank or not. Amalgamated has been around for a long time. It's main office is in the heart of Downtown Chicago. I can't remember ever seeing any branch offices. Best regards, Mirage

It specifically states they do NOT.
Yes, I had their card about 18 months ago, and when I pulled my credit report, it was reported as secured.
