Citi silver came where is the gold!

Did you get an instant approval on the web? I just applied for both gold and silver, but I have to wait for a notice in the mail on both!

 

I got both welcome letters and pin # letters and the AASILVER one week, but had to wait MORE THAN ONE WEEK MORE FOR THE AAGOLD...

I DON'T KNOW WHY...

 

think about this.

if you plan to convert, you need to combine gold into silver and then convert silver into plat select.

you don't need your cards to do this, and the gold acct # will die in the process, the silver acct # will remain the same (and usable) until the plat select comes..

just call them up and do the BDD right now and don't sweat the gold.

 

Sam, I just applied for both the AA silver and AA gold. I DON'T want any AA card--if I'm approved for both, can I convert them to a regular or possibly divident platinum select card? What do I tell them? Won't they think something's up if I just applied for TWO cards and don't even activate/use them, but don't want them?! Thanks.

 

My husband received the AA CARD , called and changed to the platinum select easy no annual fee no questions asked , sorry Im Pam not Sam

 

Citi BDD:

Call up, tell them to combine the gold into the silver line (in that order).

Then tell them you want:
(whatever card you want)

If the citi rep is a little simpleton (not often) you may need to call back again to do the second half (convert to platinum select).

You DO NOT provide them with any reasons or excuses.

"Two things, One to activate my new AA silver card. But First I would like you to combine my citi gold credit line into my citi AA silver credit line...."

"blah blah blah your new line is blah blah" from rep.

"Thank you, now please convert my Citi silver AA into a platinum Select card"

"blah blah blah new card same # blah blah blah".

"I would like a BT offer consideration"

"blah blah blah 5-7 days blah blah letter in mail"

"Thank you, you were a wonderful nice person have a good day".

"blah blah thank you for choosing citi"

this may be nitpicking, but isn't the gold a higher status than the silver? If so, why do you convert the gold into silver rather than converting the silver into gold? Or is this just a stupid question?

 

The Gold is actually held by a different subsiduary of Citibank.

The gold can be combined into the silver, but he gold cannot be converted to Platinum.

Platinum is better than Gold So you combine gold to silver, then convert Silver to Platinum..

Platinum has more benefits from mastercard than GOLD, and although you may never need to use them, they do come in handy every once in a while.

of course the whole silver,gold,platinum,titanium thing has been so diluted in the past few years, it really doesn't matter.

Right now the Cool is the clear-see-through cards, and the Amex BLACK is for pimpin'
