A family member purchased a car for me, through Primus Financial, under his name due to my credit problems and I have been making the payments for 1 1/2 yrs without any lates or anything. My question: Is there a way to transfer the loan to my name by proving that I have been making the payments? If I have to apply to Primus to take over the loan, any idea on whether I would qualify with my Fico scores down below and my Ch. 7 BK from 01/01? Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but my repo was with them and I got it deleted from Equifax. BTW, it was unpaid. I'd call and ask them, using the account number on the coupon book. What can they say, NO?

    Good Luck!

You can get financing in your name and buy the car from him.

Sure can II work for a company that owns Primus and all you have to do is request a TOE..Transfer of Equity Application and once approved u will be added to the loan...Your family memeber will not be removed from the loan..You will be added either as the Buter or the Co Buyer to the loan..Just did it for a friend of mine.......

Is this common with ALL car loan companies? I have a loan with American Honda Finance w/1 late pay, but I want to add hubby to the loan so he can have another installment loan. Would we have to refinance?

My scores are MUCH higher now than when we bought the Honda, would it be in my best interest to refi? Only problem is I need a company that will look past the negative equity, I'm not putting $5K down (long story). Peoples First isn't available in my state :(
