I found 2 collection agencies that are NOT bonded in my state, and by law they must, should I call or send them a letter to remove......I'm so excited....I have a few things up my sleeve and I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, my journey almost done and a prime card a couple months away!!! I know I need patience but I wanna call and say HA not bonded get off my report!!!!!! They are from 1997.....ANYONE???????
I think I would write just so that you have proof that they were informed and if they don't take it off your CR then you can send a copy to the CRAs and hopefully get them off once and for all. Also you could file a complaint with the BBB and FTC. If you just call you are likely to get a 6$ hr collector or 10$ hr manager who might not do anything about it. I don't know if that is what you should do, but that is what I would do.
You guys are probably right, I am so impatient though!! I guess I got overly excited!! Anyway, I'll make a papertrail and see what happens, I haven't even done a validation to these yet....I just want them gone!!
Collection Agency bonded? /NY Does anyone have the web address to check up on a collection agency from NY?
Re: Collection Agency bonded? /NY Mindcrime, try this resource: http://www.facredco.com/decode/Pub/default.asp This is First American Credco's creditor decoder. It's not meant for us lowly consumers, but it sure works nicely. Doc
Re: Collection Agency bonded? /NY Thanks Doc. BTW, I found the CA I was looking for, they have a subsciber #, but does this mean they're licensed to collect on me. I'm in NV, they're in NY.
Re: Collection Agency bonded? /NY interesting site. Question: How do you search if they are bonded to collect in your state??
Re: Collection Agency bonded? /NY What does Bonded mean? And how is that good if they are or aren't? Thanks Me
