I got an invitation to apply for a Chase Platinum card in the mail, and I'm kind of baffled. I know it's just bait to get me to apply--I'm sure I wouldn't actually get offered a platinum even if approved. However, I didn't think my scores were high enough for any Chase card. I'm at 601, 624, 619 at the moment, no CA and a couple of 5 year old Paid Charge Offs, a couple of closed accounts with late pays, but no derogs whatsover in at least a year or so. The other wierd thing is that I can't find a promotional inquiry from Chase on any of my reports. You think I stand any chance of being approved for something if I apply? -- cnswift
My cat got an invitation from Discover to apply - said she was 'pre-selected'. Considering she doesn't have a SS# there couldn't have been a promotional inquiry done. Not trying to discourage you, but my cat getting an invitation from Discover when I've never received one just kinda makes you wonder. Ozzy.
I applied for Chase w/ a score of 684 TU (who they pulled), they denied me for a 30 day late pay in 1996 and an R5 in 1998, it said this specifically cause I PFB'd them for recon, and they still said NO
I just received the same offer in the mail. I haven't check my scores lately, but the last time I looked, I has an Equifax score of 615. Since then, I aquired the two Aadvantage cards and converted both into a Platinum Select. Is Chase really hard to get? I searched all over the application and it didn't say "pre-approved/selected" or anything. I want to apply, but I don't know if it's too soon...
if you have any negatives chase will deny you.. you will have to go through manual reconsideration... Kev
