Go for it: I did not mean mean it to discourage. At least you have some idea of what you are up against. That may help.
Here's what they don't tell you. If you live in a low income area (geographically), then you lose points. If you live in an upper middle class area, then you gain points. If you're a teacher, you lose points. If you're an engineer, then you gain points. Get the idea? But they don't list these as reason codes! These are "secret codes" to peg you. That's why some people have high scores with negs. and others don't. Calmest_LA
Heeeehee...they probably aren't hanging out at Credit Net because they have no reason to. I am going to ask around because now I'm curious if anyone really does get any of the high scores. L
My wife and I just checked ours because we are looking to buy a house when we get back to the states. Mine was 622 with alot of room for improvement, thats why I am here and hers was 786. Our bank is USAA (i am in the military) and they said anything over 680 is very good and over 700 is excellent.
That's the truth! Wish I had known about this place sooner. I didn't have the first clue as to where to even start with this mess, but in three months I have had a lot of successes. I started out working almost exclusively on Experian and have negs down from 12 to 5 (4 if you count the one that GE Card Services is supposed to be removing) and three of these are duplicates of the same paid charged off account. I'm sending a version of Doc's litigious nutcase letter to the creditor on that one (I laughed so hard when I first read it) and hoping it will help with those...which will leave me with one. That one is the tough one. The only thing that is really incorrect is that they reaged it. It was initially listed twice...one with the correct date and then again two years later. I disputed and of course they removed the one that would fall off early next year and left the one that is incorrect. Maybe that is a good thing though since it gives me a way to dispute again. Anyway....that is my longwinded way of saying this place has really made a difference for me. I see light at the end of the tunnel. I'll take this opporunity to thank everyone who contributes to these boards! Thanks!!!!!! L
I hope this works, I haven't tried posting a link before. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=125081#post125081 Here's the link to his original posting of it. I used it a couple of days later and within 1 week had two 2-year old paid collections deleted from EQ. I did go the route of having the signature notarized and sent it CRRR. Hope it works as well for you as it did for me.
How do you like USAA. I have them for auto and renters insurance, I have been thinking about the checking and savings side. I am in the military also. Thanks.
Thanks, nquisitive. I did miss this one but I will be using it (or a variation of it) on one of my paid collection accounts.
We love USAA. They reimburse you for all ATM fees that are charged by the bank you are using. All loans are pre-approved so when buying a car or home it is like cash in hand. They understand that we move alot so change of address is not a knock. I talked to them about a home loan and he said they check all three CRA's, FICO (680 and above is very good), income, debt and assets. We leave here in 18 months and are going to buy a home.
