My mom's TU report is slowing but surely being cleaned. Given my past experiences with this hard-ass credit bureau (the worst of all next to EX then EQ), I won't dispute more than 1-2 items every two weeks...otherwise they will not investigate. Among the several good things we got already include deletion of 13 30 day lates on a loan and an old paid charge off. They also changed two accounts from "closed by creditor" to "closed by consumer" within 12 hours of disputing. I won't get too specific, as I know TU loves to monitor here, but what should I dispute in the next two rounds? Public records. Unpaid Judgments: 1998: $200 1998: $1500 1998: $650 1999: $210 Garnishment: 1998: $200 Unpaid collections: 1997: $750 (last updated 11/01) 1997: $1500 (last updated 9/01, see above judgment...can they list this twice?!!) 1997: $200 (last updated 12/1998) Late pays: 13 30 day lates, paid off loan, last updated 1999. Lates are from 1996-1999. 9 30 day lates, paid off loan, last updated 6/2001 Lates are from 1999-2001. I know it's a fine mess, but we are working it. She also has several things that I didn't list because her lawyer is handling them (redated accounts, malicious and erroneous prosecution). She doesn't want to overwhelm her lawyer right now with these, but may later. What can we do in the meantime? Her TU is 502. Her EX is 597. Her EQ is 507. Pretty much the same info all around, but this post asks for TU help
my theory is " biggest worst first". I would dispute one of the judgments, probably the 1500 that looks like a duplicate of the collection. I would dispute lates from the paid off account. Just my opinion since you are doing them every two weeks. I got my unpaid judgments off tu by disputing them. good luck.
