I have heard of Lexington and a few others . Are they worth it . I don't have a problem with the money part of it , but i don't want to make alot of stupid mistakes. Any idea's . My beacon score is 547 . If I send out letters now isn't hard to backtrack with a credit repair agency ? Toolhound

My opinion...do it yourself or use a service where you mail the letters yourself. You would be amazed how these credit repair people can screw up positive tradelines, etc. And even if you use a credit repair agency, I would highly suggest keeping a spreadsheet to track which letters are sent to which accounts and when you receive the certified cards. No one cares as much about your credit rehabilitation as yourself.

if you know enough to ask a question on this board, you can do it yourself. read the old posts, especially regarding the types of negatives you have on your report (credit cards, charge offs, late pays, medical, collections, etc) and then ask questions.

the satisfaction and sense of power you get from doing it yourself is worth it.... all for the cost of $3.80 per letter
