My acct. is one year old this month. Just called and got another 1000 increase. I asked about converting to Plat. and was told we don't convert cards, you'll have to apply for one. Sooo, I will call Mr. Cooke tomorrow. We'll just see about that. lol
Hi LKH, please post your results with Mr. Cooke regarding the platinum conversion you want to get. Good Luck !!!!
I called the retention #1-800-955-1455 , at least I think that is retention. I've been trying for 3 months to get an increase. Every time I called I was told my acct. is in review. Today I said my acct is a year old and Mr. Cooke said at this point I would get an increase.
Believe this if you want to but since I got this card a year ago, I have not received one single new offer from cap 1.
My Capital One card will be two years old next month. I've never had any other offers from them either.
That is really wierd. Most cardholders they bombard with additional offers. Oh well, I don't really need another one of their gold cards.
I have one and only one Cap 1 classic card since 1996. No offers for any other Cap 1 card has ever been sent to me. Perfect payment history. Buddy of mine has three Cap 1 accounts- Classic, Gold and TJ Max Another buddy has the Classic and the Plat. Best regards, Mirage
Dave LV, My first Cap1 MC is over 3 yrs and they offer me pre-select Kmart MC and recently Platinum Card. I took Kmart MC and I got approved. I didn't take Capital One Platinum Card because they charge annual fee $39 and 14.99% fixed APR and they give subprime terms. Ron.
Spoke to Mr. Cooke. Got the same story about needing a $5000 line before they could convert it to plat. But.....I had that $36 annual fee spread over the year at #3 per month, he did away with that and further reduced my apr from 15.97% to 12.9%. Not my best, but I'll take it. I'll call again in a couple of months to get that credit line bumped up. I also told him again that I had not received any offers. He said he has no idea why. I may try to apply for the plat card, although I'd rather have a discover. So I'll have to mull over whether it is worth the inquiry or not.
LKH, How much more credit do you need to reach the 5K limit on you card so you can convert to the platinum card?
