I applied for the Target Visa and was approved for the Guest card ($200 limit). Has anyone had any success on having the APR lowered on the Guest Card? It's currently at 21%. Please advise.

    TIA

    SD,

I think the Target Guest Card only has 1 rate and it is 21%. I haven't tried it myself and you called them to find out and their customer service is 800-659-2396.

Thanks Ron. I was just approved about 20 minutes ago, so I might wait awhile before asking. I'm a big chicken when it comes to this stuff so I have to build up courage to call and ask for rates/increases I deserve. =0)

I got my Guest Card over a month ago and its still not reporting on any report, I haven't used the card and probably never will, I just got it to help ratios and to get another retail card. How long does it usually take, or will I have to use the card in order for it to report.
Sorry, there I go hijacking again :(
BTW, my score was a 614 FICO when I applied and I was instantly approved :)

    SD,

I have Target Visa and I asked them to lower my rate. They told me I have to wait at least six months to lower the rate. I called a couple of time and finally I get a hold of nice person. She told me that she can lower my rate. I have Target Guest for over 2 yrs and I never carry balance because they have high rate. Target Guest didn't post that they have lower rate and it doesn't mean they don't have lower rate. Never hurt to ask.

    KHM,

I have Target Guest Card over 2 yrs and they reported to all credit bureaus. I have Target Visa for over one month and they only report to TransUnion and Equifax. Sometimes it take them longer to report the account to all bureaus.

I'm not sure what my Ficos are, but the last time I checked, my Equifax score was 615. Since then, I have aquired a Citi Plat Select (Silver and Gold AADvantage converted) and this Target Guest card. I tried for Macy's yesterday and was declined. I think my best report is Experian.

Do you apply online for the Target Guest card or by phone for approval?

When I applies my FICO was in the 620-650 range. I was approved with a $300 cl.

If you do get approve by all means use it. Just to get the ball CR rolling.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

I just got my Guest card in the mail about a week ago. Now get this! I applied online and was approved instantly ($200 limit), however my scores are all in the mid to high 500"s! But my wife's scores are almost identical to mine but she was denied. What's up with that??

I applied online this morning and decided to check the status right away (LOL, I couldn't wait!!). It came back approved for the $200 Guest Card. I only applied to get a free credit report, but hey - whadduya know! Another retail card to add to my mix (making this my second one).
