Need your help Creditnetters! My husband requested an investigation via regular mail with Equifax included were copies of documents to to support the release of the lien. Received the results today. The dispute included 4 tax liens and one item that has been paid with a $0 balance . The results of your investigation letter: Lien #1 - This lien is currently reporting as release Lien #2 - This lien is currently reporting as release Lien #3 - This lien is currently reporting as release Lien #4 - This lien is currently reporting as release The credit profile letter: Lien #3 - Verified 03/99 Lien #4 - Verfied 03/99 Called customer service and asked the to have the credit profile reflect the updated results of the dispute. The rep replied the she would need to submit another 30 day investigate because the results we received were send in error. We said no to the 30day dispute and requested a supervisor. The sup gaves us the same crap about another dispute and requested we fax to the documents to some dispute team. It was explain that another 30 day investigation was unacceptable. the sup said okay just fax the documents and we should have this resolved in two weeks. We said okay. Did not stop there. We contact the VP of Consumer Affairs and spoke to an assistant who again stated that the results we received was sent in error. She was unable to explain how this could happen. She also asked to have the documents fax directly to her. After that conversation I decide to go online to check to see if an investigation was pending. Guess what? There is a pending investigation started today. At this point should we just sit tight and wait or press on. Advise is welcome from all!!!
well. they had thirty days to complete an investigation. I would not fax them the information that i had sent them previously, but a letter stating what the fcra says and indicating that nothing short of deletion of the accounts will do. the supervisor can do that. I would tell them that you did not request a new investigation and that you have printed a copy of the report stating that they started an unauthorized investigation for your possible lawsuit.
Forgot about the last item. This item is related to back child support for the husband. We paid the total amount and sent a copy of certified check with investigation request of incorrect balance. The JERKS sent the investigation results as "Once an acct has been opened, the acct may appear on the credit file for 7 to 10 years from the date of last activity" Never verified or corrected the balance. This is getting out of hand with Equifax. Any advise welcome.
