What I've learned about Equifax

I've only been doing this for a little over a month, but using the online method, I'm having stuff that I challenge removed within 2-5 days. I don't even think they check it out, if the last report date is more than 2 years they just remove it, which is fine with me. They don't change the info, they just remove it. Resent stuff though takes them longer and always comes back validated. What's up with that?? Maybe the best thing to do is to get the oldies first, even if they are not the worst. I've lost 13X30 days, 5X60 days, and 3X90 days in a little over a month. BUTTTTTT......only on Experian, the others take forever and seem to validate more. Are you all finding the same??

    Do you really mean Experian?

No, I mean Equifax...I've had no luck with Experian, I'm looking at it right now.

If you have a local affiliate you can't dispute online.

I tried to do an online dispute last night. It told me I was unable to.

I'll have to do it by fax or snail mail now.

I've only done 2 online disputes before. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you not allowed to do another dispute if you've already done one online?

What I've learned about Equifax is that their customer service people are not very well trained. My jaw hit the floor when the person that was helping me asked, "What's the difference between a soft inquiry and a hard inquiry."

I got that same question when I called Privacyguard, a credit monitoring service. Go figure...

Can you send an on-line fax to Equifax if they have a local affiliate?
