I just did an online app with Discover. It said I would hear something in 30 days or less. It didn't approve or deny me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of calling their 1800 number tomorrow to see what is going on. Do they have a reconsideration dept. like Amex? I am trying to do a balance transfer from my Cap. 1. It's maxed out and they won't increase the credit line. I can't get another one until June. I've spoken with Mr. Cooke numerous times. I can't get citibank, I'm on their blacklist. Any suggestions? I was trying to wait to apply until my reports were clean but the temptation was too great!
I know where your coming from beta. I almost applied last night, but I'm so close to clean, I was able to resist the temptation. I want a high-end prime rewards card. But I know that somehow they'll pull EQ, so I'm still waiting. I would call Discover and see whats up.
As I posted in another thread, Love got the Discover Plat. last month with a 586 score and 5 derogs. If you have a decent score with not too many negatives, it seems you'll get it. They have been hammering me with daily emails to apply. The emails haven't come directly from Discover, but rather online vendors, so I take the offers with a grain of salt. But they are pushing hard none the less, so I'd be willing to bet you get it. When you find out what cra they pulled and your score at the time, let us know. Good luck.
Originally posted by LKH As I posted in another thread, Love got the Discover Plat. last month with a 586 score and 5 derogs. That's true. First for my negatives: I had three charge offs in 1999 (one reported paid), one collection (as a result of one of the charge offs) and a medical collection. The positives: An open car loan (no lates), one closed retail account, one open Visa account (never late), one paid off car loan (never late). My income was 90K. Got instant online approval. They pulled EX.
does anyone know which prime cards will consider you if you have a decent score but a ch 13 bk? I know citi/chase won't.
Does Discover say declined if you are definately declined? In the cards I have applied for online...each one that ended up declining me told me they needed further processing and would notify me. No one ever broke the bad news online. Was just curious if Discover would be the same way or the message you will hear something in thirty days is a good thing because it means they are still considering you. Thanks, L
I guess I'll call and see what's up. I'll post the results of course. I have about 10 dept store cards- all in good standing, 2 that date back to 1992. The only derog is 2 paid collections, 1 unpaid falling off this year and 2 disputed unpaid collections. I have about 7-9 open student loans - all in good standing. Most of lates are gone from using the Goodwill approach. I doubt I'll get it. I don't want to get my hopes up. I wish I hadn't applied, but the temptation was too great. At least I'll have damages, if they do turn me down, for a lawsuit.
I called last night. I was denied. :-( I don't know why or what cra they pulled. I'll find out when I get my letter.
