My friend and her x have been divorced for 6 years now. Since I've been doing all of this credit research/repair she decided to get her credit reports and us try to fix the dents there. Problem: Her x has several cards where he listed her as joint (she thinks he applied around the same time they split) and they now have 30 day, 60 day lates. Not to mention she now has too many accts listed as one of her fico reasons. He is remarried and has been for 3 years or so. Well she called these different cc companies and they refuse to take her off/ or close these accts. unless the x husband calls to do so. Texas is a communtity state and therefore she is supposedly responsible for these accts. even though she did not apply for the credit, he did. This guy is a complete butt and will not work with her on anything. And the orginial divorce decree did not state who is responsible for these cc debts. Any advice/??
I would file a police report on him for fraud. If she did NOT open the accounts, and he won't help, hen screw him, literally!!!
