I disputed an account that is about 6 years old and closed and it came back verified. What is my next step? Am I in a losing battle? It is schedule to go off Aug-03 should I even bother?
Sweet Child, Experian is BSing you. Most creditors don't keep contracts more than 2 years. your name is in the computer with an acct #. I would validate the acct with the creditor, then make them remove it.
WHO DID THEY TALK TO? AT WHAT PHONE #? OR ADDRESS? WHAT DATE? HOW DID THEY VERIFY? WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO THEY HAVE? A computer name/address match is NOT ENOUGH...
All my response was that they verfied. I disputed on line. It was my account but it has been closed for 6 years. It had 3 30 days late pays and if I can get them to drop this off my score will go up. It was paid for in full by me. It never went to a collection agency. Should I dispute again on line? or write them asking for verification on who they spoke too? etc??
Send a request for procedure letter. Make them prove they verified it. I bet they didn't even send out a dispute.
Can I do that online or do I have to mail it? I have creditexpert and just curious... Thanks for the advice. I am sure they didn't verify either..

Thank you,,,, My next question is, the creditor I am looking to send this too is now Wells Fargo. When I had the account with them before (30days late, 6 years ago) they were under a different name, Norwest Financial. Who do I send the letter too? You said in your nutcase letter they will not want me as a customer anymore so the will more than likely ignore me if I don't sound threatening, HOWEVER, I just got a morgage through them in December??
