I went from 752 to 732 in a few hrs on TU. I had -0- inquiries at 1:00 today. I applied for Generations Bank (approved) Bank of America (will know tomorrow) and Eddie Bauer Mastercard (will know in 7-10 days). I have a fraud alert on file so I can't get *instant* credit now, but it protects me from having to go through this ever again. I did a reconsideration for Chase and they told me to fax a report and they would use it vs pulling another one. Generations Bank let me fax one because I asked to raise limit, they approved for $2K at 11.9 %APR, I asked for $5K at 9.9% APR.

3 inquiries cost me 20 pts. Today my only factor for score was:

    NOT ENOUGH RETAIL DEBT EXPERIENCE
RETAIL ACCOUNTS WITH LOW CREDIT LIMITS HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR CREDIT SCORE.

    Now it's :

LENGTH OF TIME SINCE MOST RECENT BANK INQUIRY IS TOO SHORT
LIMITING THE NUMBER AND TIMING OF CREDIT APPLICATIONS MAY IMPROVE YOUR CREDIT SCORE.

    NOT ENOUGH RETAIL DEBT EXPERIENCE
RETAIL ACCOUNTS WITH LOW CREDIT LIMITS HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR CREDIT SCORE.

How are you getting your TU scores so quickly? Charlie

Go to their website and put in you were denied for credit. I used Chase and dont' even have a Chase inquiry on file. You can pull it every hr on the hr if you want to. It's all soft inquiries.

TU has me blocked for 30 days (this happened twice, so I a finally gave up). I just called the other day and ordered a report over the phone so hopefully I will be receiving that soon.

Once I order over the phone, can I then start ordering online? I have no idea what their problem is with me ordering a report online and I'm hoping I will eventually be able to view them onine again.

    Any insight on this one?

TU's score isn't a real fico score. Don't put too much stock in it.

    I agree with marie.

I have been testing the inquiry factor with EQuifax for many months, and have never seen a major drop for inquiries. With TU and their score, seems a rainy day could drop your score.

Experian dropped me 15 points for one inquiry.

Generations Bank? I applied (jointly w/wife) last nite online and got a message that went something like "if we want you, we'll contact you within one business day--if not, you'll get a letter"...

    Guess I'm out, huh?

    Cheers,

    David

I got an email that I was approved for $2K at 11.9 but I called and said I wanted $5K at 9.9%. I told them I had a current TU report and they said fax it and it would go back to underwriting tomorrow and they will call me back. 690 is the cutoff for $2K and then the limit goes up, but my score is 752 so I figured I can get more than $2K.

Is Generations the one that doesn't report to the CRAs? Or is it Everbank or someone else????

It is the wonderful generations bank that does not report.

    Note to David,

If you don't get email from them within two days, call the 800 number and ask what's going on. You need a 650 to get in the door, and they will tell you what your TU Fico score is.

Did Generations tell you what your FICO was? Just curious how it compares to the junk score TU give on the website.

Thanks!!!... anyone know about how they are with inquiries? I've got several TU inquiries lately (4 from Citi alone that I'm trying to get taken care of) and hate to blow another inquiry if they hold inquires against ya.

    Ozzy.

Wow! I wish I could do that too! I think with a bit of time in QuarkXpress or Word, I could polish up my credit report to look as good as yours, Christi. Tell me, why did they trust the report you sent rather than pulling a new one? I don't doubt your integrity, I'm just curious.

ONLY two things will lower your score.
    1*Do something
    2*Don't do anything.

    Christi,

Are you able to get your file and score from TU while having the fraud alert on the file?

We put a fraud alert on my wife's files 2 months ago because of identity theft issues and we have not been able to get the files or scores online since then..

    Thanks
