I just happened to find some old reports from 99 for me and hubby, man what a difference!!! TU score NOW 602 EQU 623 ** I didn't start working on his til December 01 (half ass before that) IT CAN BE DONE!!! I wanted to write this down for the newbies as well as myslef. To show myself what I have accomplished and to show the newbies it CAN be accomplished. Now mind you, at first, I put in an obscene amount of hours into it (10 hours a day, at least). Once I hit 600 I cut back to only doing it at work (my job is VERY laid back, plus I only work 2 days a week 16 hours each day) I check our reports on Sundays, to prepare for any Monday morning disputes/validations/estoppels etc. I would eat, sleep, and drink creditnet, the FDCPA, and the FCRA. I mostly focused onto the FDCPA, in fact I could probably recite it verbatim if necessary. Trust me you can and WILL do it!! Thanks if you've made it this far!! Kellie * ok after proofreading, I realized I NEED A LIFE!!! Or a psychiatrist
We all need one that is why PsychDoc is here He keeps me sane here and calms me down all the time! Without charging and without even knowing he is doing it. LOL Kellie, I don't know if you saw my response to your post in another thread earlier, but I think you have done excellent work and should be proud of your score increases (well your husbands Ex score not withstanding . I found once you start the momentum going you will pick up speed so your scores will be in the 7's soon, I feel it Congratulations on a great job so far! -Peace, Dave
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof Dave, glad my neurotic posts have at least forestalled your own neuroses. Just so I don't misrepresent, I'm not an MD (i.e., a psychiatrist). I'm a PhD in clinical psychology (although I am not licensed and don't work in the field). The psychiatrists typically rely upon medical interventions such as a lifetime supply of a serotonin reuptake inhibitor like Prozac. Practicing licensed clinical psychologists typically rely upon traditional psychotherapy to ferret out the source of the problem and hopefully circumvent the need for medication. Sometimes, of course, both strategies are needed, and the two disciplines do cooperate when it comes to patient care. On the other hand, there is often no love lost between those pill-pushers and those of us who have a deeper understanding of human motivation and emotion. (Cough, cough, lol.) Doc P.S. I thought I would clarify because I occasionally get an email from a fellow Creditnet poster which says something like, "Doc, I know your background is psychology, but could you give me advice about my kidneys regardless?" Unfortunately, although I can dissect personality dynamics, I'm unable to speak with any authority whatsoever about blood and guts.
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof Over time and just plain disputing as "not mine". i've gone from 500 to 650's across the board in 2 years. from $0 to $35K in unsecured credit. It takes a reasonable effort, not a lot, and of course time heals the older issues best.
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof Sam, were you able to get new prime unsecured credit with those scores and what negatives did you have any collections...I just reached 630 on CE and am wondering when I'll get out of subprime hell...thanx
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof Just have to report with glee, that I had two inquires removed and I went up 5 points! It's a start!
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof Sure. Most of my credit 25K is with the citibank BDD. Between 575-650 i got citibank cards, cap 1 gold card. Around 640 i got apple loan (to mbna visa) Around 650 you can get amex delta skymiles, household card. Around 670 i got Target visa with 6k line Most prime lenders will not consider someone with derogs on file. I have a TON of denials even at 680 score to prove that.
Re: Newbies-There's hope, I'm proof When I did Citi BDD I had a tu score of 580, the only derog that was on there (that shouldn't have been) was Filenes CO. I called 2 days after I applied to get the status and was told I was denied because of income, so I added hubbys to it and poof I got $8500 in CL's. Although now I have a new collection that just started showing and it makes me nervous cause the day after the CA started reporting Citibank pulled my CR.
