I need detailed information on one of my accounts reporting to TU, most of the info I need is not included on the regular reports they send: payment history, reported date of first delinquency/date of expiration on account. I am having a "letter war" with one of the information providers and I need this information should I have to go to court over this entry. Anyone done this?
I am having a similar problem. I have requested that the CRA instead of the original creditor report info that they normally would report ie in the monthly payment, terms or recent payment space they put NA. NA means not applicable, which everything included in a credit report is 'applicable', otherwise no one would waste time reporting it. Didn't mean to go off on a tangent, but I feel your frustration... BTW, do you mean when the account was closed when you say 'date of expiration'?
No I mean when the account is due to expire off the report which should be calculated from the first delinquency. Since TU does not provide the account history the date reported by the cc as the date of first delinquency or even the date the entry is due to exprire - it is difficult for me to prove to the company (or the court if need be) that they are mis-reporting to TU. I am frustrated by TUs reports...so very frustrated.
The HUGE (and obvious) drawback to the way they report these is because when someone pulls your report, they see the delinquency like its new when TU is simply using the day we last dispute it or they investigate it. One of my reasons for my low TU score is recent delinquencies, etc. I haven't had a delinquency on anything in over five years, but you couldn't prove it by TU L
Oh yes, lets add that to the list of things TU does wrong... I dispute, they verify, last activity date moves up-- my score goes down. Fair? I don't think so!!!
Last date of Activity shouldn't move when you dispute. Maybe the "Updated" entry (I'm looking at my Tu report right now). On a account not currently opened the have a "Closed" block with a date next to it.
You are probably right, it is the "Updated" date that moves up with each dispute... but how would I (or someone else doing a credit check) know that this isn't the last activity date since they do not show the last activity date on the credit reports- its misleading. I can pretty much guarantee that when the "Updated" date moves up, my score goes down- it is the only possible reason for my declining score. Thats a mouthful... hope that wasn't too confusing
actually I am having a battle with TU right now on the same thing. All my old collection or charge off accts show an updated or verified date but the status date remains the same. However on the latest dispute the changed the status date from 12/98 to 2/02 and my score dropped 30 points. it may be status date fico picks up on TU reports
