I wonder if they have a longer grace period for the first 6 months of valid online payments or maybe just 6 months usage. I have had my Citi card about 6 months now, this is my 7th statement paid everytime online.

Unless this was a fluke, I have ALWAYS gotten payment post dates like Georges, always between 4 and 6 days.

I will let you know, I pay my second Citi card in a day or 2.

If they called or wrote my bank (BEFORE I COULD MAKE MY FIRST PAYMENT) I'm sure they asked AVERAGE DAILY BALANCE and BOUNCE HISTORY...

I think other on-line payments have been charged to the checking account and posted as a payment in 12-24 hours...

Yea, my FNANB card posts online ACH payments in one business day...Cap1 in one or two I think. Citi has always taken longer...once I even paid the ten bucks to have the Citi rep pull my ACH payment over the phone because she said it would post in 24 hours. I had waited until only 4 days before the due data, and I did not want to risk being late.

BTW Even though the rep told me I would NOT get a late fee, she told me (as Sam has said) that Citi has their own internal scoring, and that one day late would be a mark against me on their internal score. That is why I paid the $10, to make certain I did not even go over one day.

George, Verified, no more 4-5 day wait!!!! Finally.

This is from card #2 paid online 5 minutes ago:

    Expected Post Date 04/01/2002
    Date Authorized 04/01/2002

And I copied this prior to my posting so I know it is a Citibank system wide thing:

If we receive your request to make a Click-to-Pay payment before 1 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), on a bank business day, your payment will post to your Citi® card account that business day. If we receive your request to make a payment after 1 p.m., your payment will post on the next business day. Our business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.

    Thanks Citi!!!

    -Peace, Dave

    Finally!
    It's about time.
There was no reason for a 4-5 day delay.

Post date is not the legal paid day.
