What is Wells Fargo doing? Bidding you out? If the inquiries are reported on your reports they would have to be reported on her copy.

I have no idea what they're doing. On top of that, she hit me with this: I need to provide a letter outlining the reasons behind my past derogatory marks on each credit report. That doesn't bother me so much; I sort of expected to have to do something like that. What pisses me off is the creeping suspicion that every single last person at Wells--underwriters, clerks, janitors, window washers--has the unimpeachable authority to pull a person's credit report once they're in the door, whenever they see fit.

That's what gives me the paranoid heebie-jeebies.

Note to self: before applying for another mortgage or any other big-ticket credit item, find out beforehand exactly how many times they will need to pull your credit reports, and get that in writing somewhere. If they balk, or simply don't know, end the transaction.

    lbrown59,

Replace the word "Everybody" with "Powerball winners," and I would wholeheartedly agree! :)
