Other posters have noted that birthdays are suddenly
changing on Equifax. I personally have witnessed SIX
different reports where this happened within the last month. The new dates aged each person by about a year. (A 4/7/77 became a 4/30/76)

Anybody have a clue?? I can
think of several possibilities, but don't want to become too paranoid.

BTW-- I've lurked for awhile and gleaned soooo much great info from the knowledgable and generous people on this board. I'm hoping somebody wiser than I can figure this one out.

Check your report-- it is easy to miss.

I am very curious to see how many creditnetters have had their birthdates mysteriously changed.

Gee, that would mean that we couldn't confirm our identity, so they can't talk to us...

Hmmmmm, I wonder if this frequently happens to folks who are chronic updaters like us........

Just 'cause you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.........

Experian has done this to me, but changed it right back when I included it in one of my disputes. Haven't had it happen with EQ or TU as yet...knock on wood.

My birthdate changed about two weeks ago. I've disputed in online but no results yet.

LOL, they changed mine again, but not as much this time. Made me one month older. Age would have stayed the same.

I just faxed them a copy of my DL and said "fix it." They did.

They claim it's the computer's fault. I dunno.

It's funny u noticed that too! I was aged 1 year also!!! why only a year, if they messed up a b-day, you'd think they would just mix up the #'s. I went from 4/18/77 to 12/5/76 ...not even the same #'s.

I went back and checked my old EQ reports. On 8/8/01 they changed my b-day to 18months older. I had them fix it and it was correct until 1/7/02 when again that same b'day showed up. I've had them fix it again.

Software problem, perhaps, occuring at 6month intervals?

They have changed mine from 1/28/77 (Correct) to 12/1/76 (Incorrect) SIX TIMES in the last 3 months!!! WTF is going on??? Each time I request a report online via EFX it is changed. I call them immediately and they change it back. They say they have no idea as to why it is occurring all the time. They say the incorrect date is not listed in their system anywhere. They never give me any problems changing it back immediately w/o any proof, but I know that each time I make a request for my report, it will be wrong and I will have to call them again.

It seems as though the problem is occurring too frequently to be just a minor glitch though if others are having it happen too!

EFX even went as far as to tell me that ONE of my creditors must be reporting the incorrect DOB each month and resetting their changes each time. What a bunch of BS. They told me they had no idea which one and that I would have to call each one. Guess what? I did, and they are all CORRECT!! I don't get it!!

I'm AMAZED that the CREDIT CARD COMPANIES can change your DOB with-out PROOF!!!

...but you have to send a copy of DL, PHONE BILL, SS CARD TO GET THE CARD!?!?!?
    SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE...

TU even changed my last name and told me they cann't change it back because one of my creditors reported. TU told me to contact every creditors.

RE: "Just cause you're paranoid" quote.

    I almost put that myself.

    Changed to the correct DOB.

    Now incorrect again.

    WHAT is going on?

I really am curious how many people have run into this. Can't help but assign the most malevolent explanations. :(

I got my Equifax report a few days ago and they had gotten my actual birthdate right, and now I see on it today I'm born 12/01/1981!
