I sent a validation letter to a medical collection agency about a $50 collection thats on my CR. The first one they ignored, I sent a second letter. I got this today: Dear Me Van Health System ( Bapist Hospital) has sold your account. As of march 1, 2002 we no longer represent them regarding your outstanding account. At their request, we have deleted our tradeline from your account. You must contact PARC at xxxxxxxxx regarding your account. Sincerly xxxxxxx healthcare Collections Ok, does this mean they are going to delete my tradeline on my CR's? Should I copy this letter and send it to CRA's? Should I give them some time first ( I just got this letter today). I'm not sure what to do. Thanks.... me
Sounds to me like they're deleting the collection account from your credit report(s). Go ahead and send copies of this letter to the CRA's along with a letter asking them to delete. It should move the process along a little quicker. Congratulations on the deletion BTW.
Thanks mindcrime, When I send the letter to the CRA's should I black out the sentace: You must contact PARC at 1-888-xxxxxxx regarding this account. Or leave it in there? Thanks again. me
Yes, I would suggest blocking that sentence out. It's none of the CRA's business what the CA "suggests" you do, they obviously cannot validate the debt and they're ready to delete, simple as that. BTW, just for your records, make a copy of the original, and black out that line on the copy, keep the original in it's "original" form just for your records.
Does anyone have any sample letters for this kind of situation? Or an idea of what I should say. Thanks me
