I've heard it said you should never dispute an inquiry where it resulted in an open account. The majority of my current inquiries resulted in open accounts...but almost all of them are with the same company. Is there any reason I should not dispute them as hard inquiries and attempt to have them marked as AR?

I had 3 inquiries from citi. 2 from last year when I was denied, and the 1 from Jan. when I was approved for the bdd. I disputed both from last year by saying they should be ar's and they moved both to the soft inquiry section within a day or 2.

I disputed and removed all Citibank inquiries from TU for my two Citi cards, the inquiries from my Target Visa, Mervyn's and American Express green card. There's never been a problem.

Thanks, LKH and Dave! Dave, did you dispute those you ended up with accounts for as no permissable purpose, or as AR's?

    Thanks!
