If I settle with them they are going to reprot "Paid In Full" and they are going to send this in writing.

Is this what I want and far as improving my score or should I go after something else, they WON'T Delete so I have given up on that, is this a good offer as far as settling or should I be going after something else.

    Thanks

If they can report it paid in full, they can delte it also.

Paid in full is no better than not paying it. Because it will still be listed under the "collection" area of your credit report. You are not going to gain any points for paying it.

Personally, I wouldn't pay it, not unless you are trying to get a mortgage or some other type of loan that requires all outstanding collections be paid.

I have dealt with this company and if you try to dispute it after paying it. I can almost guarantee they will verify each and every time.

I am trying to get a mortgage that is why I am asking for the update, but they said that they can't delete this why I don't know but anyway we'll see.

I had them fax the letter to me 3 different times because they were trying to play on words with me, that sent me a red flag as well.

    thanks

How much do you owe? How old is it? Is it yours?
I know you said you were looking for a mortgage, but I just spoke to a mortgage broker/lender today and she said if it's more than 2 years old and less than $300 they don't really pay much attention. A friend of mine had a 4 year old repo that wasn't hers, when she bought her house the rep said write a letter of explanation, she did and her rate is 7.25, this was 2 years ago
