I have two paid judgements. I paid off the first judgement without ever going to court. The original creditor and I worked out an arrangement where I basically made the payments as they were originally scheduled. When I paid it off, I got a letter from the creditor to send to the clerk of court in my county in order to remove the judgement.

I never did this because I found out I had to pay some type of fee. Is this what is known as "vacating a judgement", and if so, does this constitute means for getting the CRA's to remove the entry from my reports. TU already deleted it when I disputed.

different counties have different processes for vacating a judgment.. this could be the case or it could just report as paid. Just call the clerks office and ask... they are usually very helpful. You can summarize the letter that they creditor gave you and they should be able to tell you whether it will be vacated or just update to show paid status.

A vacated judgment will be removed from your cr's . I have gotten judgments removed by simply disputing them.... maybe you should try that with the other cra's also.

TU and EQ have deleted them both, but EX updated it to reflect paid.
