There is almost never any reason to communicate with a CA over the phone. They will tell you anything and honor none of their promises made orally. Tell them that you only wish to communicate with them in writing.

Immediately follow this a CRRR letter that notifies them you only wish written contact and that requests validation of the debt they are trying to collect.

"What is your name, what is your company's name, what is your address, what is your phone number, what are you calling about? I'll check this and get back to you. Thank you for calling. Goodbye."

Make no promises, confirm no information and admit no debts.

Then run, don't walk, to your PC and start writing the dispute and validation series and/or cease and desist letters.

Better yet Just send them the Val. Letter. That way if they call after they get it you can rack them up for more violations

When a CA calls me, I tell them to talk to my lawyer.
