I have been working on my credit for a while now and it started looking pretty good, especially on equifax. I just got an update in the mail and an Amex charge off has been reinserted on my report. Can they do this without notifying me? I would say Amex has been off for at least a year!

They are supposed to notify you within 5 days of the reinsertion. Is your address correct on the credit report?

No it's not. I just move to Phoenix in February and did not change my address with them. But I still didn't get any letter forwarded to me, only my credit report.

They don't send you a letter. They send you an updated credit report and on the first page it will describe what acct changes (deletions, reinsertions) have taken place.

I got an update from disputes that I did. It never said anything about reinsertion at all. It was just listed there with no explanation. Should I dispute it again and hope it comes off?

Check the account number... is it the same? Amex changed all of their account numbers (as they report to the CRAs) in February. If it's a different number, contact Robin Hollands office (do a search here for the info), explain the situation and tell them when the Amex line was originally deleted. They can handle live, if you go through the normal customer service, it will take 30 days and most likely come back validated.

    Good luck.

I am having the same problem but with Trans-Union. Does anyone have a phone number or contact information?
