Asset Acceptance GONE//TU Way Up

Asset *finally* dropped from my TU. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm down to only ONE derog on my TU, folks. My score went from 577 to 633. Before this dropped off my Empirica (as of yesterday) was 661; it must be even higher now that this dropped off.

I honestly can't believe the progress I have made with my credit repair since I started in earnest in late-February.

My first TU report, dated 2/26/02, I had 13 derogs...and a TU score of 491. Two and a half months and 12 deletions and 142 points later, I think I'm satisfied with my results. :)

Just wanted to say 'thanks' to everyone on the board. I got a lot of these deletions by contacting the reporting CA or OC directly and negotiating with them. I would have never been able to do this without first knowing the FDCPA, FCRA inside and out, and all the other 'tricks' we share with each other on the board. And I didn't even have to file any suits (thank goodness)!!!

I still have EQ and EX left (I haven't had *nearly* the same luck with them), but that's pretty much on the back burner because up here in WI, nobody seems to check those reports.

My goal with this whole credit repair journey was to qualify for an auto loan, which I never got. At first I was disappointed, but after looking into it further I discovered it wasn't my bad credit (which isn't that bad now anyway) that disqualified me, it was my lack of an installment loan history. I can live with this. I was especially beaming yesterday when the CU underwriter told me that I have "A" tier credit. I haven't heard that said about my credit before in my entire life. I twas a great feeling...

Well I'm beginning to get a bit nostalgic...thanks again everyone. Now what CCs should I apply for with my TU score?? :) :) :) (I need more open accts on my report)

    -Matt.

matt_r, It is a great feeling to have that kind of success. You did a good job in a short period of time. I really don't want to tell who TU pulls in WI, because they vary from area. Try www.millcbs.com. They may be able to help you. It is a place to start. Charlie

    matt_r,

I'm so happy to hear they deleted! Congratulations! You've come a long way in just a few months.

Good luck on your EX and EQ endeavors.

Matt, great job! It's so good to hear of other's success, it helps when I start to get tired of working on credit :) We are in WI too and I think every bank, CU, and auto dealer pull TU here. Also applied for Discover and they pulled TU if that helps.
