Check this out regarding FCNB...they DO NOT ISSUE NEW ACCOUNTS, CANNOT INCREASE CREDIT.... The TRAP IS CLOSING!!!! Whatever happened to: FCNB / ASPIRE / Providian / Sterling Bank / Merrick Bank / NEXTCARD ???? aarrfff - Doggin it along dogman http://www.cardweb.com/cardflash/main.html Spiegel's OR-based First Consumers National Bank has signed a consent order with the OCC to end the issuance of sub-prime credit cards. FCNB has agreed to stop issuing any new secured credit cards unless it is fully secured; increasing the credit line of any existing secured credit card; issuing any new unsecured or partially-secured credit cards to any existing customer with a FICO score below 680; and providing any new credit line increases on any bankcard to any customer having a FICO score less than 680. It continues with these subprime issuers - another which I have in the drawer - for NET USE LOL!
Hey Dogman, I just got a new Newport News card last week with a $1300 limit. Just in the nick of time eh?
I think so - LOL! The main thing they got burned on was the old offer - get 300% of your security deposit - obviously a lot of tha was not secured.... aarrffff - dogman
I don't know what happened to that post, but here it is again for those who are wondering what the hell dogman is talking about. I sent is $175 and got a $225 credit line. 300% my ass.
I think not for $849 per person LOL! I also do not think FCNB has been very upfront with their customers about how bad their situation really is/was - we have to find out through the PRESS! aarrff - dogman
Hi LKH!!!! I will admit they never screwed me and always reported my cards - and I was always able to use them at reasinable or no costs. I used Spiegel a few times and always had deferred billing too. best - dog
Here is the ORDER about FCNB regarding accountibilities.... http://www.occ.treas.gov/ftp/eas/ea2002-40.pdf CRITICAL: read to about page 14 - IF someone has a ZERO BALANCE for 12 months, FC NB will reduce their limits 50%! USE your card if you haven't used it in a while to get off the "identified zero balance - dormant - list" you can read the whole document, but page 10 of 26 starts the action... best - dogman
Thank's for the info Dogman. I have a FCNB Mastercard that I have not used in about 2 months with a zero balance. I will buy a gallon of milk and put the card back in the sock drawer. My limit is at $5500. I plan on closing the account if I get approved for the Washington Mutual Visa card.
SCENARIO...say I had a credit limit of $10,000...I used the card up to $9,950...so they cut my credit limit to 50%...if I apply for a new credit card...I WILL BE DENIED...$4,950 OVER-LIMIT WILL SHOW!!! LAWSUIT TIME!!!!
I have an FCNB card with a <heeheehee> $150 cl. Does this mean when my fico hits 680, I can ask them to unsecure it and increase the cl???? I should be there soon and since I never have used this card, its a wasted account to me as it s stands right now.
So does that mean that I can get my credit line increase that I asked for originally on 4/4/2002? It says that it didn't become effective until 5/14/2002. Anyone?
