I usually get 1 - 2 pts at the beginning/end of each month for good behaviour. Today I got 19 pts. No balances have decreased on the reports yet. No new accts reported yet. The only thing I can figure is that my oldest cc just hit the 3 year mark this month. I knew the older the better, but never thought it would give this much of an increase.
How reliable do you think the scores are? Do you think that they are consistent with the other agencies that also offer credit scores? And is this a service that you pay for? Are you happy with the service? Thanks in advance.
Creditexpert is for Experian. They have a 30 day free trial. Good deal. Creditwatch is for Equifax. They have a 30 free trial also. Look at past threads to see if there is a link for a $25 special within the last week. Docs something or other. this is your REAL FICO score. Eloan is for Transunion. Eloan is free and it is a few points off one way or the other. My Eloan and TU scores are about 75 points off of each other. I think that most peoples are a lot closer. Creditexpert and Eloan change when your score changes daily. creditwatch updates weekly. I think sometime on Monday. It varies. Charlie
You keep saying this but it is incorrect. Creditwatch will update daily if something changes daily. You probably are thinking about Privista, which updates on Mondays.
Thanks. That was very helpful. Do you notice that the Eloan score is higher than the others? I was just wondering what is the most accurate of the three do you think? I know they all use different criteria to give the final score, but what do lending institutions look at more to give out credit and loans. Thanks.
The most accurate is the Equifax score you get from CreditWatch. Because it's the true FICO score, it was the only score that EXACTLY matched my mortgage score. E-Loan was pretty close to my TU mortgage score and Experian's Creditexpert service was a tad lower than my true score. TU's own internal score is worthless.
You have to APPLY for credit to get a "HARD"...if you get a copy of your credit report for you...IT MUST BE A "SOFT"...
LKH, I will let you know. I have an account that will hit the 3 year mark 6/2002, so I am thinking the end of the month. I will let you know if I get a boost.
Thanks. My account hit the 3 year mark in May. So, if you get an increase, it looks like it would be at the end of the month.
